Volunteers make Westcroft Community Centre the warm and wonderful place it is. They cover reception, support and offer activities, engage in outreach, run events, and work on projects.
We actively encourage volunteers to bring their own ideas of what to run at the centre. We're expanding our offer in the near future so lots of enthusiasm, a good idea and a bit of commitment can turn into a real contribution to the community.

Current Vacancies
Board of Trustees: Westcroft is governed by a small Board of Trustees and we are always looking for more skills and experience within the group. We are currently looking for more trustees. If you'd like to help the team at a vibrant community centre to deliver a high quality service and achieve our ambitious organisational aims, please get in touch!
Outreach / Marketing: We want to engage with the community outside the walls of the centre. We produce leaflets and newsletters, conduct questionnaires, and invite people face-to-face to join in with events and activities they might not have tried before. It's a bit of fresh air and very rewarding even if you don't have lots of time to spare.
Volunteer Work Placement: Whether you would like a receptionist or teaching job but need the experience to get your foot in the door, our work placement programme could help you along the way. For candidates with the right commitment, we have an opportunity to work at the centre full time for 6 weeks and complete a portfolio that is more than just a reference - it is a record of your achievement that you can take to show potential employers. If you're on JSA it won't affect your benefits and you can even get help with travel and childcare.
Receptionist /Admin: We're currently looking for individuals who can help out with reception. We want our centre to be welcoming and well organised so our receptionists should be open and warm with a willingness to listen and occasionally do some gentle filing. There are lots of opportunities to get more involved and reception is one of the best ways to try out the centre and see if it fits you.
ICT Assistant: Occasionally we need a little extra help making sure our equipment is working properly. We run regular virus checks and make sure updates completely load before shutting down our computers. Sometimes things go a little slow and we're not sure why. We're looking for someone who knows a thing or two about making sure everything is in good working order and willing to volunteer with us for an afternoon a week.
If you're interested in volunteering, contact us. We'd love to have you on board.
